Prepare and plan ahead for the following common weight loss problems and you’ll be much more likely to succeed where others have failed:

Weight Loss Problem #1 – Weak Willpower

Let’s face it; temptation lurks around every corner and if you don’t have the strength to say “no thanks” to fattening foods, you won’t get very far with your weight loss goals. Strengthening your willpower is as simple as taking back your power – the same power you have given to food. When you say, “I have no willpower” what you really mean is, “I don’t feel strong enough to resist temptation”.

A good way to overcome this weight loss problem is to keep working on strengthening your willpower at every possible opportunity. Sometimes you’ll fail, especially when you first start working on it. But over time it will get easier and easier to say “no thanks” or even have a small taste without overindulging.

Weight Loss Problem #2 – Boring Food Plan

A boring food plan is a sure recipe for diet failure. Traditional “diet food” is usually very bland, which only makes you want to rush back to the better tasting, more fattening foods that got you into trouble in the first place. Luckily, this weight loss problem has a very easy solution: get yourself some good low-calorie cookbooks and start trying out some delicious new recipes each week. Not just main courses, but snacks, appetizers, desserts, soups and stews, casseroles, salads, even breads, muffins, smoothies and more. Keep your meals and snacks interesting and delicious and reaching your weight loss goals will be incredibly easy!

Weight Loss Problem #3 – No Motivation

There’s nothing more frustrating than wanting to lose weight but feeling like you just can’t muster the motivation to do it. One of the best ways to get motivated is to get excited. Think about it; the more excited you are, the more naturally motivated you are, right? So take some time to get excited about losing weight. Why do you want to lose weight? What’s so great about being thinner? Stay with this line of thought for a few minutes and you’ll probably start feeling a little spark of enthusiasm. Stay focused for a little while longer, and your enthusiasm should bloom into full-blown motivation.

Weight Loss Problem #4 – The Dreaded Plateau

Anyone who has dieted before has probably encountered the dreaded plateau – that frustrating period of time when weight loss stops and you can’t seem to get it started again, sometimes for weeks at a time. Almost always when you reach a plateau, it means your current caloric intake and activity level is no longer adequate enough to keep the weight loss going. To overcome the plateau you’ll need to change something: either reduce your calories further (or sometimes increase them if you’re not eating enough), bump up the intensity of your workouts, drink more water, or take other action that will help you burn more calories.

No matter what kind of weight loss problems you encounter along your journey to a thinner you, the important thing is not to panic and think it means you are doomed to failure. Keep your cool and approach them logically and confidently, and before long you’ll see those numbers on the scale going down again.
